Single, so that means the best team might not win


If one team gets a hot pitcher for 7 innings or a fluke play, anything can happen (see Grand Canyon over FSU or NC Central over UNC).

It's a bit of a trade-off. It saves the pitchers for the Regionals, but adds a certain level of uncertainty.
